E-mail Setup for Windows

The following instructions explain in detail how to fully configure Windows Mail.

1. Start Windows Mail

Start the Windows Mail program from your Start menu. If you do not have any mail accounts defined yet, the Internet Connection Wizard will automatically begin and will display the Your Name window. If this happens, continue with step 4 of these instructions.

2. Begin Adding a New E-mail Account

Open the Tools menu and choose Accounts.

The Internet Accounts window opens. If there is a previous e-mail address listed that you no longer use, remove it. Otherwise, click Add.

3. Choose to Define an E-mail Account

When prompted to select the type of account to add, select E-mail Account, then click Next.

4. The Your Name Window Appears

The wizard asks for your name. This is the name that other people will see when you send them an e-mail. It should usually be your real name, such as John Smith.

Enter the name you want other people to see when you send them an e-mail, then click Next.

5. The Wizard Asks for Your Internet E-mail Address.

Enter your e-mail address, then click Next.

6. The Wizard Asks for Your E-mail Server Names

Leave the server type as POP3 and type eastex.net as the Incoming mail server and outbound.eastex.net as the outgoing server. Check the Outgoing server requires authentication checkbox, then click Next.

7. The Wizard Asks for Your Internet Mail Logon

Your logon is the username part of your e-mail address in all lower case.

Type your password as provided to Eastex Net.

If you wish, check the Remember password box so you don't have to type it each time you send or receive an e-mail.

Click Next when finished.

8. The Final Screen of the Wizard Appears

If you do not wish to retrieve your e-mail at this time, you may check the Do not download my e-mail at this time checkbox, then click Finish and then click Close.

E-mail Setup for MacOS X

The following instructions explain in detail how to fully configure MacOS X Mail.

1. New Accounts

To set up a new account, visit the Eastex Net Mail Setup for iOS and OS X website, then choose POP3 or
IMAP

After verifying your selection, click the "Click Here" link, fill out the form and click
Submit

A file called "EastexEmail.mobileconfig" will download to your computer and ask to be installed. Click Continue, then Install.

Once installed, open Apple Mail to verify you can send and receive e-mail. Disregard the "Unverified" label.

2. Existing Accounts

For existing accounts, use the following instructions to fix or verify your settings:

  1. Open Mail, click the Mail > Preferences
  2. Click your Eastex account on the left panel

3. IMAP

Go to Server Settings

Verify the following for IMAP:

Incoming Mail Server (IMAP)

  • User Name: yourusername
  • Password: (dots)
  • Host Name: eastex.net
  • Uncheck "Automatically manage connection settings"
  • Port: 993
  • Use TLS/SSL is checked
  • Authentication: MD5 Challenge-Response

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)

  • Account: Your Eastex account
  • Username: yourusername
  • Password: (dots)
  • Host Name: outbound.eastex.net
  • Uncheck "Automatically manage connection settings"
  • Port: 587
  • Use TLS/SSL is checked
  • Authentication: MD5 Challenge-Response

Click Save

4. POP3

Verify the following for POP3:

Incoming Mail Server (POP)

  • User Name: yourusername
  • Password: (dots)
  • Host Name: eastex.net
  • Uncheck "Automatically manage connection settings"
  • Port: 995
  • Use TLS/SSL is checked
  • Authentication: MD5 Challenge-Response

Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)

  • Account: Your Eastex account
  • Username: yourusername
  • Password: (dots)
  • Host Name: outbound.eastex.net
  • Uncheck "Automatically manage connection settings"
  • Port: 587
  • Use TLS/SSL is checked
  • Authentication: MD5 Challenge-Response

Click Save
